Checking what people post

Approving what your village posts, and what to do about a report.

For Village moderators

You see the queues for your village only. Somebody else's village is somebody else's to check.

What waits for you

Sign in, then go to qwahabedi.co.za/admin. Anything waiting shows a number beside it: classifieds, events, notices, job posts, listings, and Bana ba Motse nominations.

Nothing a resident submits reaches the public site until you approve it. There is no way round that, and no "temporary" exception.

What to check

  • Is it real? An invented event costs somebody a trip; an invented notice can send a whole village looking for water that was never cut
  • Is it this village?
  • Is it safe? No prices that look like a scam, no personal details of somebody who did not offer them
  • Is it political? Leaders are listed as offices and services. No campaigning, ever — that rule is what keeps the site usable by everybody

Declining is not a judgement on the person. Say why, in a line — they can fix it and send it again.

Reports

When somebody reports content it is hidden immediately and waits for you. That is deliberate: better a good post offline for an hour than a bad one up all weekend.

Look, then either restore it or take it down for good.

Nominations need care

Bana ba Motse is consent-first. A nomination is not a profile: nothing is published until the person themselves has agreed.

Contact details collected for a nomination are never displayed, and they are deleted once the person has answered — whether they said yes or no. Somebody who declined is not asked again.

Everything is recorded

Every approval, decline and takedown is written down with your name against it. That protects you as much as anybody: if a decision is questioned later, there is a record of who made it and when.
